Aligned with Common Core State Standards, our literacy program achieves incredible results through targeted instruction.
Our Colorado READ Act approved curriculum uses Orton-Gillingham based programs and the Wilson Reading System to raise students to grade level literacy and beyond. Available before, during, or after school, the program is conducted by degreed educators who participate in over 20 hours of initial training and are provided with continued professional development.
Michael Seefried, the principal of Fairview Elementary, utilized Results Learning’s services during the 2013/2014 school year. Not only did students participating in our program grow over one grade level on average in reading, but the school’s median growth percentile grew from 45% to 71%.
Before tutoring begins, we review pre-test scores and proposed intervention plans with your school, ensuring accurate progress monitoring so you and your team can observe tangible results. We actively share data and meet each month to discuss every student’s progress, providing your teachers with the fluid communication required to get the most out of our program and help them do what they do best.
Results Learning believes small group instruction is most effective for improving a student’s literacy levels. Each tutor conducts a class of three to six students per group during 60 or 90 minute sessions, two or three times per week.
Dynamically integrating all of the students’ senses, our phonics-based curriculum engages students visually, audibly, and tactilely. Students are personally involved in monitoring their progress through periodical DIBELS assessments, making them feel invested in and excited by their academic growth.
Parents are also integrated into the program from start to finish.
A parent meeting is offered on the first day, giving our tutors enhanced insight into your children’s personalities and learning styles. At the end of the program, we offer recommendations on how to encourage and reinforce skills at home. 99% of parents felt his/her child’s reading ability and confidence improved over the course of our program!
